In today's world where the way we look is such an important part of the way we feel it is good to know that you couldn't be in safer hands. We have detailed some Do's and Don'ts below and the answer to the most commonly asked question - Will it Hurt?

The Treatments

BOTULINUM TOXIN (Botox)
Botulinum toxin act by stopping the chemical reaction that makes muscles contract. Whilst the muscles are relaxed, lines and wrinkles are less visible and the skin has time to repair itself.

The effect starts within a week of the injections and lasts about 3-4 months. After three treatments the effect becomes longer lasting as the skin quality improves. The safety of botox is now well established and it is the most commonly used aesthetic trechnique in over 70 countries around the world.

The quality of the work depends on the skill of the practioner. The ideal outcome is a soft and youthful whilst maintaining facial expression.

Treating fine lines and wrinkles
Frown lines, crows feet and lip lines respond well to injectable treatments and any deeper creases can be softened with non-animal fillers.

Dermal Fillers - Hyaluronic acid gels
There are many "fillers" on the market and they are all used to create volume in the skin and fill out lines and wrinkles. Some, such as Collagen, are derived from animal products. Others are plant derived and are based on a naturally occurring acid gel.

The highest quality plant derived gels are the Restylane products and it is these that we recommend. Thinner gels are used for fine lines and thicker ones for deeper folds. Each product is injected into a different layer of the skin allowing a natural semi-permanent effect to develop which lasts for 3-6 months.

Hyaluronic acid gels are considered very safe and avoid the "trout pout" look that can be used by the permanent fillers.

Skin rejuvenation
As you get older two things happen to your skin. The top layer of the skin (dermis) becomes cracked and tired and the layers beneath dry out and lose elasticity. For those that want to avoid a radical solution such as surgery, marked improvement in the skin quality can be made using fruit acid peels, crystal exfoliation and water reaining gels. A deep peel will also remove some wrinkles.

Will it hurt?

This has to be our most commmonly asked question and the answer is NO!

Many treatment can be made comfortable by the simple application of an ice-pack others are easily tolerated a few minutes after rubbing in some aesthetic cream. Extremely tender areas such as lips can be numbed by a small injection much the same way as your dentist does.
